The brown jumping shrew (Latin name: Elephantulus rufescens) is a small mammal of the jumping shrew family, found in East Africa. They have a brownish fur, a long snout, and remarkably long legs, with which they can move and jump quickly. These animals are very active, curious and have an excellent sense of smell to find food, such as insects and fruit. Jumping shrews are fascinating because of their mouse-like appearance and fast, jerky movements.
