Monchhichi was born in 1974 in Japan, created by Mr. Sekiguchi. He combined a soft plush monkey with a cute vinyl face, including a thumb to suck on. The very first Monchhichis were twins: a boy and a girl. The cuddly monkeys quickly became a huge hit in Japan and have since conquered the hearts of young and old all over the world.
